The theme will be Path to Sacrifice.

Following Spring Break, we will take some time to read in Literature Circles.

We will begin our unit on Iowa History next week with a visit from Leo Landis, Curator for the Historical Museum on March 1st. He will talk to our students and we will visit the museum and vault on March 5th. Please look for the permission slip that came home today.

Language Arts – We spent time working on verb tenses this week. Next week we will look at irregular verbs and verb tense consistency. We will continue with our Informative Writing unit next week as well. We have spent some time researching topics we’re curious about and want to learn more about. Next week, we’ll narrow down our topic choices and ensure that there is plenty of information on our topic-then dig into the actual research. We’ll learn how to take notes, how to look through information, how to cite sources etc.

Spelling – Our Spelling list next week will consist of words that are homographs. Your child will need to know how to spell the words as well their multiple meanings and how to determine the correct meaning in context.

Any photos you may have can be uploaded directly to your child’s google account. If it is easier to email them directly to your child’s teacher, please feel free to do so. If your photos are hard copies, simply take a photo of the photo with your cell phone and email or upload it. Thank you! We will also have generic photos of the sacraments for any student who does not have a picture for any particular sacrament. Following our Sacrament work, we will spend time learning about Lent and pairing it with the Works of Mercy.
